I grew my hair out long because I am trying to get rid of all the died hair, yes I often enjoyed killing my hair with hair dye from the store shelf so that I could have more of a red look than the dark black that my natural color is. Here is me just a month or more ago with longer hair…

See how my hair just takes over my neck? It’s long and THICK … so yesterday I got a hold of a long time family friend, the only person besides my sister I will let cut my hair on a regular basis and asked her if she was working. She was working and so I went in, waited in a long line because it’s a walk in service barber shop and eventually was able to sit down to get my hair cut. I requested it to be layered and told her I wanted to get rid of as much of the died hair as possible without going too short. Translation would be to keep my hair long enough for those crazy children days when only a pony tail will suffice for “doing my hair in the morning”. She also thinned out my hair and it feels so much lighter now, and yes all the curls you ever see in my hair are natural, I simply use some gel to hold them in place so they don’t frizz … here is my new hair do …

I really like it. It looks really healthy after your cut. I totally know what you mean about leaving it long enough for pony tail days. I have naturally curly hair too and can’t wait to get it cut on Tuesday to get it thinned out myself.
