It Is What We Perceive It To Be

I was thinking the other day about perceptions, and it’s so true that life is what we perceive it to be. This holds true for any area of your life. Think about it, if you perceive your body image as that of a fat, no good person then you will feel like a fat, no good person. Reality is you need to look at every area of your life and perceive it to be a positive place. Yes you may not be totally happy with your body image, yes your life may appear to be in a rough place right now. So many people are getting laid off and losing their income. Prices of everything around us go up as our income drops or stays the same, this is the life we all live at the moment.

Truth be told life is all about perceptions, think about this you read my writing every day but can you truly tell when I am being sarcastic? To perceive is to form an understanding of a situation or person based on your personal experiences with that situation or person.  Let’s say you and I read the same book but form a different idea of what the book was about. This holds true for life,  take two people and give them the same exact tasks to do all day. You may find that one person perceived the day to suck while the other person had a positive perception of the days tasks and chose to focus on the fact that they  just learned something new today.

Life is truly what you make of it. Take me for example, I am what you may call an optimistic person, I truly am able to take a situation that most would perceive as a negative and turn it into a positive. Let’s say today I had to dish out ‘x’ amount of money on a new business investment, I could choose to focus on the fact that I will broke for a long period of time due to this investment OR I can choose to focus on the fact that this investment will pay itself off in ‘x’ amount of months and in turn create a more lucrative business situation.

Every human has been given the ability to make decisions on a day to day basis. You have the self will to determine what your day will be like today … so the only question left to ask is: will you perceive your life in a positive light or will you continue on this path of self destruction?
