Do You Eat Out Enough?

As a Mom of three I rarely get out of the house for dinner, why? Well because it means I would have to lug the three kids out and of course wonder if my 3 year old is going to behave or get bored and act out. It seems every time I do get out to eat it’s my 1 year old who is the loudest of the bunch!

With everyone budgeting and trying to make every dollar last I can completely understand why many have taken dinner out off their list of things to do, but as a busy Mom who works from home both as a virtual assistant and as a mommy I can definitely say I feel I deserve at least one dinner out, away from the house and let someone else do the dishes from dinner for a change!

If you see in my sidebar the JuiceBox Jungle Widget you will see a little survey, click yes or no and you will see that more people are saying they don’t get out to eat enough! If money is what is stopping you then have you heard about Restaurant.com? I have checked out their site and you can get deals for restaurants all over! I certainly would give it a try before totally taking dinner out off your list of special events with your husband and/or your children!

Do you ever get out to eat with your spouse? Do you take the kids out to dinner ever? Why or why not? I am curious to hear your dinner out stories and of course let me know what you think about the super deals at Restaurant.com!

Make it a Happy Day!

  1. We don’t go out very often, but when we do, we usually take our granddaughter with us (she lives with us).

We went out last Saturday and had the hardest time deciding where to go. We used to really enjoy going out and did so often, but now we’d rather stay in. Between the cost of the food and tips, my ability to cook almost anything at home, and having to decide where to go, drive there, possibly wait for seating, it just doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

We usually go out to get food I can’t easily duplicate (like Chinese buffet) or when we are traveling. Otherwise, we rarely go out, and when we do, it’s almost always for lunch instead of dinner.

  2. Forget to mention my opinion of Restaurant.com. I think they offer a great way to go out and reasonable prices, but you should be careful before you buy. I bought several gift certificates from them to some restaurants in our city that we thought we wanted to try.

As it turned out, some of them weren’t open until the dinner hour, or not at all on Sunday, and were farther away than we wanted to drive (although we knew that when we bought them). So some of the gift cards weren’t used and our money spent was a waste. That’s just for us, though. It can work well in some situations, though.

  3. We eat out quite often.. normally during the weekends when we bring the boys out for church, swimming etc. It isn’t that cheap but it beats doing the dishes and cooking which we do on weekdays.

I try to eat out with hubs alone at least once/twice a month if possible. It gives us some couple time together.

  4. Yes, we take the kids out to save our sanity from being home all the time. We only have 2 kids, so we’re not outnumbered yet. It is a challenge – some times are more than others. Like yesterday, my 18mo old spent half the time screaming and he’s usually fine. Oh well, we’ll try again!

As for me and my husband, we’ve only been out a half a dozen times in 4 years!! I kid you not! It’s getting better now that the kids are a little older. We need to go more!
