I remember when I first found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I was so happy and excited. I quit smoking within a few months and started eating everything in sight! I must have been 220 pounds or so when she was born, I remember thinking how in the world will I lose the 100-ish pounds I had gained during this pregnancy?! I also recall at 6 months the first stretch mark, I was so excited about this one little mark, little did I know they would take over my whole stomach, arms and then some! I also never realized they would NEVER go away … sometimes I don’t like genetics! LOL
I breastfed my daughter and lost a lot of weight. I recall losing 20lbs nearly immediately upon leaving the hospital and then after a break up with her father when she was four months old, I lost another 20lbs almost immediately. From there I sort of had a hard time losing anything but the scale stayed right there and I couldn’t complain because I was doing crunches and at least tightening up the once stretch mark free belly of mine.
When I found out in 2005 that I was pregnant with another child, I was determined to not eat everything in sight and to watch what I eat. I walked everyday for at least 2 hours right up until the day he was born. He came into this world about one week earlier than expected. After having my first son in 2006, about a year later I planned to have another child. Baby K was born in 2008, exactly 2 years and 6 days after AJ was born. Having two children in two years definitely takes a toll on your body, unless you are one of those lucky Mom’s who has the baby and goes back to your normal state … I am officially jealous of those of you who were lucky to have this happen! LOL So now here I am working out daily to be certain I get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and am healthier overall!
Today I completed day 22 of the EA Sports Active 30 Day Challenge work out which was workout number 12 out of 20 and I am pleased to say that I am physically feeling a difference and able to see the difference when I look in the mirror. I remember when EA Sports Active first came out and I followed along with many of the bloggers who first completed the 30 day challenge, they lost some weight, I think one person had lost somewhere around 20lbs, but no matter how many success stories I read and no matter how many #wiimoms I kept up with, I couldn’t find the motivation and dedication to reach my fitness goals.
I am proud of myself and if you are doing daily exercise or workouts you should be proud of yourself too! It’s a spirit booster knowing that you have made a goal and are sticking with it! I know I am feeling more positive and I tell you during this time in my life I need anything to help boost my happy thoughts! If it’s exercising daily that helps boost my happy, I am all for it!
I am waiting to shrink out of my size 15 Levi jeans because then I truly will start to feel a difference and know this workout has been worth every moment of my time!
Today I had a great workout, I am feeling wonderful and can’t wait to workout again tomorrow morning! @mommybrain told me there is a new EA Sports out now that I should try too, it’s called EA Sports Active: More Workouts, so I am placing that on my Christmas wish list this year for sure!
Make it a Happy Day!
