I received a BlackBerry Tour last week on Friday and I was so excited I dropped everything to open up the package and play with my new toy. This new friend came to me thanks to Research in Motion and Verizon Wireless which all started with a little post from my virtual friend Jessica Knows. After having this Blackberry Smartphone for a little over a week I can actually say I know why they call this little mini-computer a crackberry!
First I had to place the battery into the BlackBerry Tour (aka BB), which let me tell you is not something for a girl named Brandy to do. I can’t chew bubble gum and walk so I certainly don’t know why someone would think I can push up on a button while pushing down and out on another part of the BB to insert a battery! I did, however, get the battery in without having to get help from the hubby! A proud moment for me.
After my BlackBerry Tour was all set up and ready for me to play with I found out not only did I have to take the time to put the battery inside it, I had to charge it too. Really? Now this was upsetting because I was ready to check out my new gadget, which I have yet to let ANYONE except ME touch.
The first thing I did after activating my BB was to find out what applications were available for Blackberry users because after all I am the social queen, blogging addict and Twitter fanatic. I installed a few applications such as Twitterberry, Ubertwitter, Facebook app, and flickr app.
The applications are just so amazing that I will be writing about each and everyone I use on a daily basis to include others I have found and use daily.
My first week with the BlackBerry Tour has been an interesting one to say the least. My husband officially says I am addicted but hopes this new addiction will wear off. I now can reach my clients anytime, anywhere without conflict. I no longer am confined to my home office and I can be in touch with the virtual world while running around chasing my 3 year old down the beach or the grocery store aisles.
Looking forward to sharing my journey with my new friend, which just like Kathy Buckworth, I plan to name … she named her BB Seamus what shall I name mine?

I have an iPhone and have wondered how the Blackberry was. I look forward to more posts about the Blackberry and how user friendly it is. I’m a bit like you and technically challenged, so being user friendly is a must.
