I recently read The Lazy Environmentalist on a Budget: Save Money. Save Time. Save the Planet by Josh Dorfman, and must admit I had a great time reading it – really I did! Now if you had asked me to read and review some book about going green and how we are all killing our environment and we need to start riding bikes and living in the dark to “save the world” I would have politely DECLINED, but asking me to review a book that will show me how to save money while living a bit more green … I am game!
I was caught up in this book from the moment I read the introduction. Josh Dorfman had found that when you tell people they need to “go green” to save the planet with all the gloom and doom we normally see associated with this topic, people are less apt to do much of anything about it. Not only do we dislike being accused of ruining our planet and then being TOLD what we NEED to do in our everyday lives, it’s just a negative approach which will get a negative response. If you do what Josh Dorfman has done; provide a positive outlook to what could be a negative situation, then more people may “hop on the Go Green bandwagon”.
I must admit living on a budget is what I do, so reading a book that will help us save money, energy and have an end result of possibly having a positive affect on the planet is wonderful to me!
