The Tickle Trunk Onyx Ice Cube Trays {giveaway}

The Tickle Trunk is happy to announce their Onyx Ice Cube trays dating back to the 1950’s. I must admit when I first received this ice cube tray I wondered “how do I use this thing?”. Being born in 1981, I really had no clue about any other type of ice cube tray except those plastic ones you purchase at Walmart.
I called on my step mother who happened to be visiting with my father one day. She told me they were super popular back in the 50’s and 60’s. Then I talked to Mom, she said the same thing. Geez what world have I been living in?!
Anyways these are fantastic ice cube trays. Made from 18/8 stainless steel, in case you didn’t know what the 18/8 means; aproximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel allowing the product to be super resistant to corrosion.
How do you use this style ice cube tray?
- Fill with water.
- Place in freezer.
- Take out of freezer when frozen.
- Pull lever up on the tray.
- Voila – ice cubes in a nice little “tray”.

I like the Food Storage Containers…I think #3 is the best size for my needs.
I like the idea of no plastic surrounding my ice cubes and altering the taste……interesting site!
Oh my gosh, I remember using ice cube trays like this when I was a kid! Anyway, I visited the Tickle Trunk and really liked the Stainless Steel Plate (s) – these would last about forever and be perfect for keeping summery foods nicely chilled, like potato salad and such.
I remember these ice trays as a kid in the 60’s and 70’s! So cool, would like to have them to show my kids! I like the coming soon popsicle molds, look like the ones I used with my kids in the 80’s!
I like the 18 oz stainless steel water bottle– I’ve been looking for something to replace my evil plastic bottle. But I’m really posting to say that it must be “Make Linda Feel Old” day. This morning, a co-worker talked about “the days when the only way to get a telephone was to call the phone co. and have one installed” as if that was concurrent with covered wagons. And now you’re telling me you’d never heard of metal ice cube trays, which I used every single day of my life when I was a kid. My pet dinosaur liked ice cubes in his water bowl…

I like the round food storage containers. They are food grade stainless steel and they come in four sizes. Sturdy and stackable.
Stainless Steel Cup would be good to go with the ice tray!

I remember these ice trays as a kid in the 60’s and 70’s! Way cool I like the storage containers.
I like the 18 oz stainless steel water bottle because i like to take water with me but don’t like plastic getting into the water. This bottle solves that problem.

I like the stainless steel cups and the small plates because I like the looks and the fact that little kids could use them without having to worry about them breaking them.

I like the pink stainless steel water bottles. They’re cute AND healthy!
The 6 liter food storage container would really help me to preserve freshness of food, quite containing a large quantity at once. Very helpful item to have.

The pink cutlery would match my kitchen perfectly. I was just wondering the other day why they don’t have those wonderful ice cube trays anymore..the plastic ones are worthless.
