The Tickle Trunk Onyx Ice Cube Trays {giveaway}

The Tickle Trunk is happy to announce their Onyx Ice Cube trays dating back to the 1950’s. I must admit when I first received this ice cube tray I wondered “how do I use this thing?”. Being born in 1981, I really had no clue about any other type of ice cube tray except those plastic ones you purchase at Walmart.
I called on my step mother who happened to be visiting with my father one day. She told me they were super popular back in the 50’s and 60’s. Then I talked to Mom, she said the same thing. Geez what world have I been living in?!
Anyways these are fantastic ice cube trays. Made from 18/8 stainless steel, in case you didn’t know what the 18/8 means; aproximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel allowing the product to be super resistant to corrosion.
How do you use this style ice cube tray?
- Fill with water.
- Place in freezer.
- Take out of freezer when frozen.
- Pull lever up on the tray.
- Voila – ice cubes in a nice little “tray”.

The product I like is the Food Storage Container – 140 ml. I remember these ice cube trays-I’m pretty sure they were made out of aluminum then. Stainless steel? How great!
I haven’t seen one of these since I was young. I am glad to see them coming back.
I like the Water Bottle (Pink) 18 oz. It is beautiful and perfect for my morning jogs.
I like the Blue cutlery set. Having to tote lunch to work, one needs to carry cutlery. This is easy, its aluminum case would keep things clean and not poking through my lunch bag.

I have been looking for these ice cube trays for some time now! We had these when I was growing up in the 70’s. They were my moms and they just worked so much better than the little “twisty” ice cube trays of today.
