As I lay down to sleep I hear a lot of noises; AJ snoring, Baby K’s breathing, children’s lullaby music, hubs snoring loudly, and then I hear a cry, “meow, meow, meow”. Why is my adult cat whining? Is he hungry, I sure hope not since he has a full bowl of cat food I just gave him before I laid down and he has a full bowl of fresh water too. Why is he crying, he just won’t stop?! Then it hits me, we all sleep with our doors closed, my oldest is the only one in our family who HATES to have the door shut and that is where our kitty sleeps. He enjoys snoozing all sprawled out on her bed, but tonight she is not home, kitty
misses her and so he continues to cry for most of the night.
It’s great that his crying doesn’t wake everyone else up, but it keeps me awake. I am horrible about noises when trying to sleep, I will hear the puppy in his crate jump up and think someone is at the door. I am a light sleeper and will not sleep through much noise. If we didn’t have three small ones I would probably try to sleep with ear plugs in because it drives me crazy that I wake up for the smallest sounds.
Tonight it is the kitty keeping me awake. I feel bad for him, but I refuse to let him come in our room. I can not sleep with our door open and will not lock the kitty in our bedroom, he may pee or poop in our room.
I feel so bad for kitty, he loves his “big sis
” who is away tonight at her Dad’s home. Tomorrow big sis
will be home and kitty will not be crying, because he will be snuggled up with his big sis all sprawled out on her bed getting some much needed rest. Sleep tight dear kitty hang on until tomorrow when you will have your big sis home and can sleep tight in her bed.

Hey lady, hope you got to sleep finally! I am just like you – everything wakes me up and then I’m paranoid someone’s breaking in! and most of the time it’s just my kids and I here… very unnerving!
