Mother’s Day is coming!! It’s a time to celebrate the special mom in your life, whether it’s your mom, your wife, your daughter, sister, or any other mom you know it’s a great way to show how much you appreciate them! I love Mother’s Day because it’s a day for ME, a day to be reminded of all the sacrifices my mother took to be my mom, all the wonderful things my gram and great grandmother have done for me in my life and to just celebrate my life as a mom!

Becoming a mother is something some people take for granted, and it’s sad. There are so many wonderful woman out there who can not be mom’s but wish to be. Something that woman so wish to be, must make it SPECIAL, why would so many woman who can not bear children on their own wish to be a mom, if it were not special?!

I recently wrote about Spot A Mom which is a great movement to celebrate any mom in your life with flowers from 1-800-FLOWERS.COM! Some moms love flowers, others love those “home made gifts”. I am more in between, a bouquet on Mother’s Day would be a sweet gesture, but I also would love a home made gift from my children. One thing I have yet to get since I have been a mom is a mother’s ring. Do you have a mothers ring? I think that would be a wonderful gift for mom!

Something I have done in the past for my mom is to write a poem for her. I love writing, hence having a blog! Poetry has been a passion of mine since age 12. I enjoy writing and reading poetry, and love to share my talent with my mom at least once a year, especially since a majority of my self written poems were written in times of sorrow rather than times of happiness.

I wonder what makes your Mother’s Day special? Is it breakfast in bed, a home made gift, running around visiting all the special moms in your life or something else?
