Spring Cleaning Done Early

Do any of you do “Spring Cleaning”? I do both yearly and a big spring cleaning event in my home.  Having three young children and a husband who loves building computers I find my house and garage is frequently consumed by computer parts, toys and more!

Recently I contacted my local dumpster company to get a large roll off dumpster, 10 yards to be exact. This dumpster will hold 1 ton of trash so with the assistance of the dumpster and my local Freecycle the Brandy Ellen household will be clutter free again! My mood is being uplifted slowly by the site of a dumpster in my driveway, silly I know, but I must admit knowing I can haul out anything and everything faster due to having this dumpster, it certainly makes me smile, and hubby cringe. ;-)

With hubby working so often I have free range of throwing anything and everything I want out to the dumpster, how exciting this is!!! To give you a better idea of just how cramped our less than 1000 square feet home was; today only I threw out 5 contractor bags full of miscellaneous garbage, broken toys, computer part boxes and more! YES I still have more to do, but I feel I am slowly accomplishing my Spring Cleaning early!

Do you start early like me? Or do you wait til “Spring” to start hauling out all your items that are no longer needed? What organization skills and techniques do you use to keep your home clutter free?

I have to admit these past few weeks I’ve had the urge to clean, I’m not sure why and I haven’t quite given in to that urge but today is a warm day so I may do a little deep cleaning but yes I usually wait until spring is completely here to “spring clean” b/c I like to leave the windows open and sunshine fills me with energy! Way to go on getting yours done early now you’ll be able to enjoy spring instead of cleaning during it :)
